"Christmas Without Santa?"

Is everyone ready for Christmas?

For the first time ever, I won't have my two boys for Christmas. I will, however, have my 2 step-sons.

It won't be the same b/c I don't think they believe in Santa Claus (truly). Will this be a Christmas without Santa?

I'm afraid that I'm going to wake up and start crying immediately.

FYI......my boys are going to be with their father for Christmas. I'm glad b/c he hasn't had them in a couple of years.

I had them in '05 and again in '06 b/c my husband was in Iraq. He felt sorry for me I guess. I got them two years in a row.

Have any of you had to deal with this before? How do you get past it?

"I'm Living In A Circus!"

For the past 4 years of my life, since the birth of my second son, I have felt like I've been living inside a circus tent with a bunch of animals.

There's something to be said about being the only woman in a house filled with 4 little boys and 1 big boy. There is a lot of testosterone!

When I say testosterone, here's what I mean.....

My 4 boy's idea of fun is to tie my 4 year old to the bunk bed poles with duct tape. Then, they attach as many toys as they can find to the ceiling fan, turn it on, and hope that they hit the 4 year old in the head on their way down. All the time, my 4 year old is cracking up.

Another thing that they think is fun is to get on the top bunk of the bunk bed and jump into the air and land on pillows. The things is, their room is so small that they end up plowing straight into the wall.

When I hear all the crashing sounds going off around me, I know what it is. Of course, they get in trouble. But, boys will be boys. They wait until I'm not looking and start thinking of new things to do.

Here's a example of what my 7 year old did to me when he was 3. I was exhausted. He was sitting with me on the couch, watching tv, and I fell asleep. I didn't mean to, but I did.

I woke up and couldn't move. I was thinking, "Oh no, someone has broken into my house and tied me up."

Then I looked down. My cute little boy had found duct tape and managed to tie me down to the couch with the tape. He had wrapped it around and around until I couldn't budge at all. Can you imagine trying to explain to a 3 year old to go get the scissors, "BUT HOLD THEM DOWN"! It took forever to get out of that mess.

This is the perfect example of what can happen when you turn your back or fall asleep with the kids in the house. Don't do it!

If you have animals, it's even worse, for them. The toys are simply replaced with the cats and dogs!
